What an absolutely breathtaking weekend it was! The 32nd South African Music Awards have officially concluded and our hearts are still pounding to the rhythm of the unforgettable moments we shared. This year, we split the magic across two phenomenal nights, celebrating every single heartbeat of our vibrant music industry.

Anele Zondo

Night 1 set the perfect tone with our Industry Awards. Hosted by the charming Anele Zondo, the evening was dedicated to the unsung heroes who craft the soundtracks of our lives. From Best Engineered Album to Best Produced Album, it was a profound honour to shine the SAMA spotlight on the brilliant minds working tirelessly behind the scenes.

Fresh By Caddy and Munaka

Then came Night 2: The Live Show of the 32nd Annual South African Music Awards. The energy was palpable from the moment our stars stepped onto the red carpet. Hosted by Munaka and Fresh By Caddy, the red carpet was a masterclass in style as attendees beautifully honoured our theme: Afro-dandyism. The fashion was nothing short of spectacular, a flawless intersection of crisp, tailored sophistication and the vibrant pulse of African design. Guests commanded attention in rich, jewel-toned palettes and dynamic textures, wearing their heritage with a modern, undeniable swagger that radiated pure African excellence. Before the main event even began, the red carpet was an absolute spectacle of excitement.

The energy was electric as global superstar Tyla graced the carpet, turning heads and capturing hearts, alongside beloved artists Lordkez, Will Linley, Lanaga Mavuso, Babalwa M, Don Dada, industry legends like DJ Sbu, who all brought the Afro-dandyism theme to life with unmatched outfits.

Cassper Nyovest

Inside, the SAMA32 stage were our superstar hosts, Cassper Nyovest and co-host Zanele Potelwa. The room echoed with laughter thanks to hilarious skits by Capo and Cassper, while CPC School brought the house down, getting absolutely everyone on their feet! The evening was grounded by heartfelt, emotional speeches from our winners, reminding us why we do this. A monumental highlight of the night was the legendary Oskido receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, a deeply moving tribute to his decades of contribution in shaping South African music. The sense of community then reached an all-time high when the iconic Bonang presented Tyla with her International Achievement Award; during her beautiful acceptance speech, Tyla created a powerful display of unity by inviting all the South African musicians in the room to join her on stage, sharing her spotlight and proving that a win for one is a win for every single artist in the room.

Finally, spectacular closing performances by Nia Pearl, Focalistic and Makhadzi left us entirely breathless.

To every winner, nominee and music lover who tuned in: congratulations and thank you. Your music is the heartbeat of South Africa.
