Loatinover Pounds Extends ‘Ground 2 Glory’ Reign With Second Week At #1. Loatinover Pounds is turning chart success into a lasting statement as his sophomore album, Ground 2 Glory, spends a second consecutive week at No. 1 on Apple Music’s South African albums chart. The Pretoria rapper’s latest project has maintained its grip on the top spot since debuting, reinforcing his growing presence in the country’s hip-hop scene.

Released on 25 September 2026 through Punyete Premier League / MODAR, the 12-track album opened at No. 1 across all genres in South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini. The milestone marked a major career breakthrough for Pounds, earning him his first chart-topping album alongside his first No. 1 singles.

The project wasted little time making an impact. Within its first seven days, Ground 2 Glory surpassed one million streams across Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music. Its songs also dominated the Apple Music Hip-Hop/Rap chart, with “My Life” and “Hood Gospels,” featuring A-Reece, both reaching No. 1.

The momentum continued into the second week, with “5 Roses” climbing to the top of the Hip-Hop/Rap songs chart while “My Life” secured the second position. The achievement gave Pounds two of the chart’s leading spots from the same album, underlining the project’s strong performance beyond its initial release.

Pounds took to social media to acknowledge the milestones, sharing his excitement over the response from listeners. “Ya’ll gave me my first ever #1 charting album and my first ever #1 charting singles,” he wrote alongside a screenshot of the charts. Subsequent posts offered brief acknowledgements of the album’s continued success, including a blue heart.

Ground 2 Glory follows his 2024 debut album, Pray 4 Pitori, building on the identity he has established through his music and connection to Pretoria. The new project features A-Reece, Focalistic, Saint Cielo, Mo Sufi, Khalee G and other collaborators, bringing together voices connected to the city’s broader musical landscape.

Across its 12 tracks, Loatinover Pounds moves between personal storytelling and melodic production, creating space for the writing to take centre stage. The project’s sound incorporates atmospheric textures, soft horns and measured bass, giving the album a cohesive feel while allowing its different collaborations to contribute to its character.

The album’s continued chart performance points to a release that has maintained listeners’ attention beyond its opening week. With multiple tracks performing strongly on both the all-genre and Hip-Hop/Rap charts, Ground 2 Glory is making its presence felt as a complete project rather than relying on a single breakout record.

For Loatinover Pounds, two consecutive weeks at the summit represent more than an impressive chart position. Following the foundation laid by Pray 4 Pitori, Ground 2 Glory has delivered a defining career milestone, with its sustained performance signalling that its latest chapter is connecting with listeners well beyond its release day.
